HOW I CAN HELP
-
College accommodations operate very differently from high school supports. I help students and families understand the process, what responsibilities shift to the student, and what to expect when working with a college disability services office.
-
Good preparation can make the transition to college much smoother. I help students think ahead about documentation, accommodations, important conversations, campus resources, and the practical steps they may need to take before and during the semester.
-
Students are expected to speak for themselves in college, but knowing what to say and how to say it takes practice. I help students prepare for conversations and emails with disability services, professors, advisors, and other campus offices.
-
Being approved for accommodations is only part of the process. I help students understand how to use their accommodations effectively, plan ahead, follow college procedures, and recognize when something needs attention.
-
College requires students to manage far more on their own. I help students develop realistic strategies for organization, planning, time management, academic follow-through, and using campus supports in ways that fit how they actually work.
-
When something becomes confusing or does not go as planned, students and families may not know where to turn. I help clarify the situation, identify practical options, prepare for the right conversations, and develop a reasonable next step.
